Ever since the word “prefabricated building” was first written in a national policy in 2016, China has been trying to iron out more specifics for the market’s planned take-off in 2025. Below are the National Policies and Industry Standards Issued From 2016 to the First Half of 2018, suggesting China’s unwavering push for the sector.

Within the next 10 years, prefabricated buildings will represent 30% of new construction. Actively encourage the adoption of Steel Structures nationwide, as well as modern Wooden Structures where conditions permit.

Vigorously facilitate the development of Steel structures and Precast Concrete in the Jing-Jin-Ji Region, Yangzte River Delta, Pearl River Delta, and cities with a permanent population of over 3 million.

Technical Standard for Assembled Buildings with Concrete Structure, Technical Standard for Assembled Buildings with Steel Structure, and Prefabricated Wooden Construction Technical Standards were issued.

Prefabricated Building Development Action Plan for the 13th Five-Year Plan Period, and management methods for prefabricated buildings pilot cities and industrial parks were issued.

Technical Specification for Precast Frame Structure Assembled by Stiff Columns and Hybrid Beams was issued.
