There are three developmental Stages of Housing Industrialization as follows: 

 

First Stage: A small number of components such as doors and windows were preassembled while a majority of them were in testing stage.

Second Stage: Most of the main structure were preassembled with prefabricated rate of 40% to 70%, which were time-saving and economical and only exterior facade and interior decoration shall be conducted on site. 

Third Stage: The main structure and building stuff were almost preassembled with prefabricated rate of over 80%.

 

Prefabricated building in China has developed into the second stage and has mature technologies of beams, columns, slabs and more. Due to the limitations of experience and other reasons, these technologies have not been used widely. 

 

As an important part of housing industrialization, prefabricated housing plays a significant role in achieving housing industrialization.
