Government Supports For BIM

In order to effectively promote the use of BIM, in 2015 the central government proposed that within the next 5 years 90% of newly built large or middle scale buildings or housing projects, which were mainly invested by the government or declared to be friendly to the ecology, should adopt BIM. Flowing the example of the central government, Guangdong also proposed that by 2020 any new building with a floor area of over 20,000㎡should adopt BIM. Since prefab houses are now acknowledged and being vigorously promoted as green buildings nationwide, the application of BIM in prefab houses will be highly inline with the government policy. 

 

China, the BIM Market With the Fastest Growth

According to a report on the application of BIM in China in 2015 jointly released by Autodesk and Dodge Data & Analytics, China had made it one of the top 5 regions with the fastest growth rate of BIM application. It also predicted that by 2017, the number of construction companies, which would applied BIM to over 30% of their projects, would increase by 108%. And about 89% respondents of non BIM user companies believed that BIM would have positive effects on their business and 39% of them expressed willingness to try BIM in the near future.

 

Ont only is BIM strongly recommended by the government, but also thought highly of by insiders of construction.
